Wheel, Tire, and Suspension Info

Wheel and tire combo side-view photo

Saleen 18"x9" chrome 5-spoke wheel with 255/45/18 Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires mounted. Extremely well-handling combo, dry traction is unbelievable and the wet traction is very notably improved over stock. However, due to the thick sidewall, which is a positive for handling, the unsprung weight is relatively high and thus hard to balance initially. If you opt to run this combo, expect a mild vibration to occur at or near 65-70 mph, but beyond 80mph the ride is as smooth as glass. Treadwear is rated at 300, so frequent rotations are recommended for optimum tire life.

Tread Width Photo

This shot shows the agressive tread pattern of the Scorpion Zero. This is also a good indicator of the offset you will get by running a 7/16" spacer with +24mm offset wheels. Notice the wheel is perfectly lined up with the truck. The spacers weren't required for fitment in the rear, but instead a clearence issue on the front dust cap. I ran spacers all around though to keep the wheel offset uniform throughout the truck.

Side Tread Blocks

This photo illustrates the nice treadblocks the Pirellis offer. Also shows the nifty little scorpion logo.

Racecraft Shocks

Extreme damping force and a monotube design make these the best shocks around. These guys are extremely stiff, yet offer a decent ride.

Underside Shot (showing shock mounts)

KMA Kustumz fabbed the shock perches for me. Here you can see the passenger side one mounted on the front side of the axle, and there's a small part of the rear shock mount that can be seen. They work rather nicely, I must say.

Belltech Drop Coils

Lowering the front 3", these were the highest quality drop coils I could find. The ride is very good considering the amount of drop. Handling is excellent.

Hawk Brake Pads

As we all know, Rangers aren't known for their exceptional braking. These Hawk Ferro-carbon brake pads sould reduce brake fade and should also reduce the amount of brake dust.
